“If you’re going to love, love all the way.” Part 1

If you’re going to love,

love all the way,

and if that’s not the case don’t even start,

for no one wants to be loved half-heartedly.

If you’re going to love,

love all the way,

for the joy of being chosen can only come second

to the joy of choosing the one who chooses you.

If you’re going to love,

love all the way,

and this could mean losing a temper,

getting your act together,

breaking your heart’s walls for someone to enter,

or you could be like me doing all those things at once,

but whatever the case, do it all the way.

If you’re going to love,

love all the way,

and this could mean submitting,

for true love is a competition,

between two people honoring one another.

If you’re going to love,

love all the way,

because there’s always someone better,

there’s always some richer, someone smarter,

someone who could “understand you much better”.

If you’re going to love,

love all the way,

yes, sometimes they annoy you as they breathe,

they are not perfect, no one is, and so are you so speak.

If you’re going to love,

love all the way,

for no one wants to be loved half-heartedly,

and even if you come to regret it,

at least you can honestly say,

I’ve once loved someone the right way
